1. Yield to bathers, pedestrians, swimmers, and in-coming kiters. The PUC dock is a shared multi-recreational activity area.
2. Wear appropriate safety gear. Canadian Coast Guard Approved PFDs and wetsuits/drysuits are recommended for all kiters; helmets suggested for new kiters.
3. Exercise cautious judgment and safe kiting practices at all times. Set-up your equipment carefully, and know how to use your safety systems. Use a buddy system, engage with other local kiters, and lend a hand if and when you are able.
4. Communicate your intentions explicitly to parties in the immediate launch area, avoid excessive flying on the PUC dock when it is busy so that other area users do not feel threatened, and so that kiters can get on and off the water without unecessary traffic.
5. Regularly inspect equipment and safety systems. Repair your equipment as needed.
6. When exiting the water, i) keep your kite over the water, or ii) if you are performing a self-rescue, be sure to swim yourself up to your kite and keep it off the rocks!
7. Represent and promote kiteboarding positively, and demonstrate the same respect when visiting other launches and kiting communities.
